An international group of analog devotees are in the midst of producing a Sci-Fi film shot on 16MM film, with sound recorded on a Nagra III reel-to-reel deck featuring a music track using analog synthesizers (Moog and Doepfer, a Theramin, etc.).

I was in Colorado last month doing in-store appearances at audio dealer ListenUp. Events were held at their stores in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs.

Mastering engineer George Marino, who worked for nearly 40 years at Sterling Sound cutting some of the greatest records of the LP era and helped usher in the vinyl renaissance, passed away on Monday after a year long bout with lung cancer.

Me and legendary recording engineer Roy Halee (not down by the schoolyard). Last week I did a series of in-store appearances in Colorado, first at the Audio Alternative in Fort Collins, where I saw a record collection larger than mine. I was jealous! Also attending that event were AudioQuest's Joe Harley who presented a fascinating history of Blue Note Records. Joe is also a partner with Ron Rambach in Music Matters, the Blue Note reissue label
