I have found the "collectors" edition hi-rez download copied to a USB and played through the hi-fi spellbinding and thoroughly enjoyable - dare I say dance inducing. And this has caused me to investigate hi-rez downloads a bit more and conseqently found some energetic Springsteen Official Live Downloads to enjoy (missed the River tour tickets and couldn't really justify flying over the pond anyway).
Back to the Dylan set - undertaking a quick comparison the hi-rez won out when compared to the US vinyl which I thought dissapointing and was wondering if it is not so good vinyl - maybe the optimal is better (does it use the RKS cut?) - arrrrrggghhhhh am I going mad? This deserves a sense check.
Also with the "collectors" edition you get a MP3 320 Download of the 1965 50th Anniversary (copyright protection?) set of 1965 Live recordings - Some are poor quality but I find the 1965 UK tour wonderful to listen to even though it is MP3 - they really deserve better. So by this time next year I guess the whole 1966 Live Recordings will be released. Stunning times - oh to work for Sony/Columbia.
