Lyra Delos Phono Cartridge From Music Direct Sweepstakes
According to Music Direct:
The new design of the Lyra Delos allows the coils of the cartridge to stay aligned with the magnetic circuit while the tracking force is applied. What does this mean? Well, in a nutshell, it means Lyra head designer Jonathan Carr has discovered a way to keep the angles in perfect alignment at all times. This allows the Delos to track better; clearly improving sound quality, particularly low-level resolution, dynamic range, transient impact, and immediacy. It delivers all the accuracy, detail and overall musicality all analog lovers crave.Keeping the proper angular alignment prevents the formation of any strong and directional flux that could otherwise flow constantly from the magnetic circuit into the signal core, and enables the Delos' core to move with equal ease in all directions, for optimal performance.
The Delos also has a Microridge stylus on a boron cantilever for outstanding tracking, a non-parallel solid machined metal body for low resonances, and 6-N high-purity copper coils and nude construction for greater clarity. The result is clearly improved sound quality, particularly resolution, tracking ability, dynamic range, transient impact and immediacy.
This is no subtle advance, and one you’ll soon see creeping its way up into the more expensive Lyra line. Hear for yourself how a newer, better angle on LP reproduction can sound.

The Delos is a wonderful cartridge. A friend of mine has one (or did until he accidentally broke off the cantilever!), and it was a lovely sounding cartridge. I own a Kleos, and it's even better, but the Delos hits the sweet spot in the price/performance ratio of high-end phono cartridges.
Sign me up! I'd love to hear what this baby can do!
Yup! Looks like it sounds good to me! :)
...lest it come true." Well, here's hoping it does.

Great site Michael. I've come to value your record reviews very much. Like so many other reviewers work, they aren't always filled with love and drool.

Jerry
Great cartridge! Sign me up!
Love Lyra... they really make great cartridges...
Cool. Hope I win
And this would be a nice one
I am a newbie to decent audio, but not to the music... Am thinking of buying a VPI Scout 2 later this year. Would love to hear folks' thoughts on how well the Lyra mates with that table. Also, what do folks think about how it compares to the Grado Reference 1 or the Goldring Legacy? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Would love to have that cartridge gliding in the groove of my 200 gram Tommy by the Who
Might need another armwand for my Classic. Wonder how it would compare to my Zephyr
...because I'd let you come over and hear how the Lyra sounds when it digs through the groove on my Teddy Pendergrass records. I think you'll like what you hear...
Very cool - looks like a nice design!
Best,
Jeff

roberto
I could use another cart for my lenco table.
OH Yeah! This would be awsome.
To win would be a dream come true!
Make it a truly global comp send it downunder!
With a effective mass of 7.7 grams, this would create a 12 Hz resonance frequency. It's in the sweet spot!
This would be a nice upgrade from my AT30! Mine, Mine MINE!
Because I'd have to upgrade my turntable to match my new cartridge! VPI Classic 3, here I come?
Will be a perfect match for my LP12 (I just bought one new:)
Like a couple of folks have said, my carts have all been budget. Decent, but budget. The next step up the ladder to analog nirvana seems....just....within....my grasp.
Oh my she is a beaut.
Pick me please.
Thank you in advance.
Winning this would be the sugar in my coffee, the salt in my stew.
I'd love to hear this in my system!
Love the site, and this would be a great upgrade (but would force additional ones...sigh)
It would be very nice to hear a Lyra in my system, so winning the Delos would be awesome. Thank you to Music Direct and Analog Planet for this sweepstakes, and congratulations to the VPI Traveler winner.

Make me the one winner, please.
I dream winning this fabulous cartridge.
Delos oh Delos, how I covet thee...
After years of running digital-only systems I just got my first turntable. Frankly speaking I am a hopless newbie when it comes to vinyl and there seems to be alot of things to learn, but I could definitely use this Lyra Cartridge :D
I'm in!
Well, I could never afford a cartridge like this. I'd love to hear it on my table!
Excellent promotion!
Thanks
...I'll take it!
Thank You.
Time for me to upgrade! I would love this one.
I've never experienced a cartridge this nice...my fingers crossed!
I use a Delos with my Rega P9 - a very fine combination. The time spent with setup will reward you with very fine musical reproduction.
Would love to hear the new Lyra in my old Dynavector 501 tonearm. Should be a good compliance match.
...Then again, wouldn't we all. Good luck to us all!
I once met Mr Carr in Tokyo and realised that he was the kinda man to make cartridges. I also then realised that I am not. However, I do love his designs, which I have never been able to afford - it would be a step up from the Denon 103R currently riding in the DIY Ladegaard-ish arm :)

I've heard a lot about Lyra carts but have not actually heard one. I thing this cart will work well with the George-Warren Turntable.
Hey!
Man! Would love to win this one. After couple of years and hours on my cart I think it is time for a new one soon when budget allowed.
Would be cool to win this!
Reborn vinyl enthusiast here. Would love to have a chance in winning a top-tier cartridge like the Lyra. I'm sure it will make my entry-level Pro-Ject Debut Carbon sound even better!
Oooh, pick me! Pick me!
A great opportunity to demo something different. Keep up the good work Mike+co
I hope for once I win Something!
I have never owned an MC cart so if I were to win this, it would bring a whole new listening experience for me! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to win this wonderful cartridge!
Excellent cartridge!! I'd love to have it in my system.
I've just bought a new cart, and this was on the fringes of my short list (not sure we can get these in South Africa), so I hope my luck is in for this draw, it would be a great comparison to the Ortofon Cadenza Blue!
Used to have the Audioquest 7000 and I understand Lyra is made by the same people. I would love to try it!
I currently have a Lyra Clavis that I have owned for the last 8 years, and have a rim drive upgrade for my Super Scoutmaster on order from Music Direct. It is coming up on time to replace the Clavis, so this would fit in nicely.
I hope I win! would love a new cartridge.
Nice. Loving all these sweepstakes
But especially to me! ;)
Sign me up. I'll be curious to see how it compares to my Benz.
Nice Cart.
This would be a double dipped cream dream to win this badboy. fingers crossed...
I also bought my TT from music direct and my record cleaner. my current needle was bent by a guest.
Thanks
I could really use the upgrade from my AT moving coil!
Thanks in advance!
Good music washes the worries of life away and analog conveys that message in spades. Vinyl rules!

The Lyra Delos cost more than my Rega P3, but if I win I'll let you know how it sounds. Please add my name to the hat.
This cartridge looks magnificent! I would love to win one. Your site is great too by the way.
thanks for the opportunity to win.
Eet's very nice.
I'll need to get a TT to match the cartridge, but that's a good reason.
Well even though I live in Canada I am entering this contest because I am hoping that if my name is drawn, you will give it to my brother in law who lives in New Jersey :-)
...the perfect way to make me get a better turntable!
I'd like to win! I promise to enjoy it...
I'd love to have one of those!
I need a great cartridge for my new Dobbins Garrard 301.
I already know it sounds great because a friend of mine has one. And we both have the same turntable and arm ( linn sondek LP12/ ittok LV II). I will have to invest in a MC phono stage.
Hello AP,
It would be nice to win this cartridge.
David
I never win contests, but it would be nice to try a Lyra cartridge!
And I can handle that (and somehow hide from my wife)
If I win this I would have to buy a new table. My old one doesn't fit in my new rack. What a great problem to have. HeHe
Sure would make a pretty trophy on my turntable!
