I have a friend who gave me a MA sampler with about 10 tracks from 6 or 7 different albums (about half of them were 24/96). He told me it was the most boring music he had ever heard. I have other friends who would listen to any one of those tracks and proclaim it to be a revelation. I've listened to each of them myself and had no aversion to any of the genres and there were a couple that I really liked, but I have to say, at least half of them I would put in the boring category or at least I found the musicians to not be that exceptional.
While I have some albums that sound very good from digital sources (even 16-bit) I think it's fair to say that generally this approach is less than ideal. I'd have to hear a copy of this before I drop $70 (with shipping) on it.
