I will be getting a new TT in 2013, probably my last one. I have been looking at so many tables lately, that it is hard to believe that if this vinly format were not "dead" that I would have such a huge assortment and any price point I wanted that it would take forever to wade through them all. OH, wait, it does. alll one has to do is go to NeedleDoctor.com, AcousticSounds.com, MusicDirect,com and see how "un-dead" vinyl is today. It is remarkable.
As I look at all the options I always come back to this Marantz table, even knowing they did not manufacture it, but did a super job in marketing it and with the ClearAudio Cart premounted made it one of the best values in all of TT land.
To win this one would be sweet, but right now this Marantz TT15 is on my list along with a VPI Traveler, Rega RP-6, a Thorens 309, Sota Satellite with a Rega Arm, Project 2 Xperience, or the new retro Merrill AR remake table with a Rega Arm. All in the same price ballpark wise and none would be a mistake to own. I doubt that I would even be pleased with a Project Debut Carbon with the Ortofon Red and wonder how they can market such a great bargain in 2012. What a great time to be into vinyl, and to never have left.
