I always look forward to the videos and write ups. Informative and entertaining at the same time. Post them when you can, don't worry about it.
With my allergies this would be a good table for the springtime.:) he he he
Pro-Ject Introduces World's First Mentholated Turntable
Actually this is one of a number of new color 'tables from Pro-Ject.
There's so much to cover here, and so many videos to post. The only problem is that the Internet at the hotel in which I'm staying is so clogged it takes hours to post videos. It takes more time than it's worth given how little time there really is to cover the show.
Therefore, all of the posts, stories and videos will go up starting Monday. To give you an idea: a 12 minute video I started uploading to YouTube an hour ago is only halfway finished. That one will be published here this evening and that will be it until Monday.
Thanks for your patience. It will be worth the wait! There's so much new at this show.

I'm surprised that others aren't offering more exotic plinth upgrades for Pro-Ject Debut Carbon tables... swop the guts out for a major upgrade.
I modified a Music Hall MMF9.1 turntable by removing the bearing from the turntable and mounting it on a Mapleshade maple platform, with the turntable sitting on it via it's 3 cones. The noise floor dropped dramatically and along with my Ortofon Windfeld cartridge I'm getting really good sound.
When the go-pro coverage began at this site --unsteady, vertiginous images that pan & swoop in the instant of having a new idea about where to go-- I thought fine, a gadget, gone once it becomes familiar.
Not once thereafter did I think, wow, this go-pro FremerView thing is really working out GREAT! Sorry, not once.
Nice photographs, steady and focused, without flash, are the gold standard of this kind of coverage. More difficult to do than shaky video. Difference btwn day and night though. Shaky, wobbly night.
Sort of like rock-steady Lp playback, well dialed-in, is more difficult to do than jittery lowrez digital. Uhm ....?..
I'm looking forward to both, keep up the good work and enjoy the show!
Uh, you do realize that the GoPro videos and the like are kind of for fun and not serious reviews. It's more about sharing with the readers. Some of us appreciate them for what they are, especially if we can't be there at places Michael gets to go. If you don't like them then don't watch them.
And thanks for that constructive disinvitation. As a matter of fact I don't watch them any more.
Kind of like I don't buy warped records any more.
;-) ... and you commented on this video without watching it then? Sorry, I couldn't resist. I, for one, appreciate the videos for what they are.
Answered.
Q: You used to buy warped records on purpose?
A: Great question! No, but I would get them sometimes unexpectedly, if not able to 'preview' a purchase. Much like a vidclip-- you don't know it's a dizzy ride till you click it, do you..?
Q: And you commented on this video without watching it then?
A: To which video do you refer ? We're commenting on a post that uses a still photo, you might have noticed. I'm commenting on a thread that begins with a post where someone is voicing anticipation for more videos. Worth pointing out that some may prefer a clear photo over a wobbly vid.
Given that your displeasure was with any of Michael's posted vid's, I was referring to the one about turntables from the previous entry. Like the previous commenter said, getting 'free entry' to such places is a pleasure, I appreciate the effort made.
try as you like to make it that I'm being ungrateful or disagreeable or unpleasant, I'm afraid that's mistaken.. Constructive criticism makes sites like this one-- get better. Stable photos are better than shaky videos. Smooth, unshaky videos may offer other benefits, but we've yet to see that.
How many ways would you like to hear that expressed ? There are other considerations, but being unappreciative of MF's efforts doesn't enter the arena.
Great site. Great coverage. Great effort by MF. Commenters.. jury's out.
