The Stooges' Fun House 50th Anniversary 15 LP Box Set Coming From Rhino

Rhino originally released this material in 1999 as a 7 CD box set, but to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Fun House release the label returned to the original tapes and Bernie Grundman cut lacquers directly from them for the original album and for the live concert LP. The outtakes are sourced from hi-res files. That's 21st century progress! The $399.98 15 180 gram LP plus two 7" 45 singles set is limited to 1970 copies and is scheduled for July 17th release.

The set includes a newly remastered double 45rpm edition of the original Fun House album. The remaining 13 albums contains every take from the Fun House sessions in the exact order in which they were originally recorded, followed by a live The Stooges appearance at Ungano's in New York City performed as the original album was released. The 39 minute performance wasn't released until 2010. The set also includes two mixes of the single "Down on the Street"/"I Feel Alright". One is from a French mono issue and the other went unreleased until the 1999 CD box. These are 7" singles using the original artwork.

Also included is a 28 page booklet with rare photos and notes plus a Henry Rollins essay and luminary testimonials, plus posters, prints, a slipmat and a 45rpm adapter. To pre-order go to Rhino.com.

Hi Mr. Fremer,

Do you know if the 45 RPM will be released separately? I only want the main album...

I really hope they sell the 45 2XLP outside of the boxset. I always wanted a good affordable copy of this album, but I really don’t need or care for all those discs of outtakes. $400, I’m out. Sell it separately for $50 and I’m in.
