Sorry, I'm still trying to figure out how to track comments on this site, so just saw you'd spotted the Thorens photo.  The pic was taken in Arizona at my friend John's place.  He paid $4 for the Thorens and when I told him it what it was worth he still insisted on giving it to me.  He said he didn't know anyone else who would appreciate it.  John's been a friend and travelling companion since Jr. High and I have to say this is pretty typical for him.  Still, I'm very grateful and one day hope he'll be able to hear the music come out of it.
