Parasound Launches JC 1+ Dealer Tour on February 29th at The Audio Salon in Santa Monica

SAN FRANCISCO (2/12/19) -- Parasound will kick off a dealer tour for the new John Curl-designed Halo JC 1+ monoblock power amplifier on February 29th at The Audio Salon of Santa Monica, CA. This will be the first of a number of dealer events nationwide to debut this remarkable new Parasound flagship amplifier. It replaces Parasound's original JC 1 after a 'mere' two decades as king of the hill.

Those who know The Audio Salon recognize it as a special place. It is nestled among the art galleries at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica. Owner Maier Shadi says the location pays homage to the idea that music reproduction is an art form. Shadi is meticulous to the point of obsession—qualities that serve his clientele well.

The event will be held Saturday, February 29th from 2 to 6 pm at The Audio Salon, which is adjacent to the Bergamot Subway Station. It will feature Parasound President, Richard Schram, and John Curl, with the Parasound Halo JC 1+ monoblock power amplifiers driving Wilson speakers.

What baffles me is why Parasound doesn't get much love from the "audiophile" community. Is it just because their gear doesn't cost enough or something?
I fairly recently got a JC3 Jr phono preamp and it is the last phono preamp I'll ever need to purchase! Seriously!
All the John Curl designed stuff is truly serious!

...a JC3 Junior and LOVE it! I've owned several Parasound pieces and all have been excellent. Agree, it's a pretty under appreciated line of you ask me...

Is why you think Parasound doesn't get much love from the "audiophile" community and why you put "audiophile" in quotes. I've raved about all of the Curl-designed phono preamps and have reviewed other pieces. Parasound gets great press from the audiophile mags and sites (no quotes appropriate) and lots of love from the "community".

I know you have raved about the JC3 Jr, not questioning that at all. In fact, it is part of what prompted me to try to save up for it, which I am glad to say was recently successful (and it is a giant killer). However, one would be hard-pressed to find any reviews of the A23+ or P6 for examples. I know Parasound doesn't come out with new product but once every 5 years or so (not necessarily a bad thing), but aside from your attention to the JC3 Jr, it seems that there is a certain price point for mention of products as if it doesn't cost at least $5k, it is not worth mentioning.I find the idea absurd because there is virtually no difference outside of power between the Parasound JC products. Even from an design engineering stand point, they are as solid as you are going to get.

I put audiophile in quotes because I have never met an audiophile in the thousands I have met who is happy with their gear from any make. Also I put it in quotes because while I very much appreciate good sound, I am not an audiophile by any stretch. I'm a music lover first, last and always. The music is way more important than the gear to me.I have a system I like comprised of the last pieces I will ever have to purchase, finally. It would be scoffed at by most audiophiles, but is very revealing (I'm a detail and tone hound) and sounds fantastic to me. I'm more interested in caretaking and preserving (vinyl records) and listening to the music.

Still...I would be remiss if I did not mention the recent write up on stereophile of the A21+, which I might add, the reviewer was extremely impressed with. While it is not the A23+ (accessible to more folks perhaps) the A23+ and A21+ are not distant from each other by any stretch except in power and weight mostly. Both get out of their own way and let the music through. Parasound is among many great products out there, it just seems that despite not releasing new product every year, they don't get counted amongst them as they should.

If dropping about $17K on a pair of monoblock amps with a similar power output capability, I'd also include the McIntosh MC611 and the Bryston 7B-Cubed on the list of prospective candidates.

I went to the site of a retailer who had the wrong price. It turned out to be for the previous model, the Halo JC1.
