Ortofon Re-introduces "A Housing" SPU at High End Munich 2017

After more than a decade's absence, this fall Ortofon will reintroduce its original "A housing" SPU. This will be of interest only to owners of certain older style vintage arms designed specifically for this "short" housing SPU.

Ortofon's Leif Johannsen walks you through the design and shows the beautiful raw Beechwood body sculpted by Japanese craftsmen and then hand Urushi-lacquered by an experienced, veteran specialist. Even if this is not a product destined for your system you will enjoy this video. The new SPU will sell for "under $2000".

I have a nice, European 12" banana tonearm that could use one of these (with an adapter). Any news on the generator, wiring and diamond profile?
