Pull the "Legs" Off of Brinkmann’s New Spyder Turntable
The new Brinkmann Spyder’s hub construction allows you to have from one to four tonearms. Removing the 22 pound glass-surfaced aluminum platter reveals a large bearing attached to a hub arrayed with large threaded holes that can secure up to four winged armboard platforms.
The outboard motor based on the one Brinkmann builds for its direct drive models drives the platter from wherever you can manage to find space for it around the array. Of course if you use one, two or three arms, there’s an easy opening at the “8 O’clock” position.
The Spyder sells for “around 10,000 Euro.”
