This video was shot a few weeks ago. The editing was completed today, the day SME announced it had purchased Garrard and Loricraft. Just a coincidence but a neat one! For those who don't know: Loricraft's Terry O'Sullivan is a Garrard 301/401 idler wheel drive expert who rebuilds and restores them for customers world wide.

Rhino releases on June 29th What's That Sound? The Complete Albums Collection Buffalo Springfield's three studio albums newly remastered, sourced from the original analog tapes under Neil Young's "auspices". The boxed set will be available on five CDs, or as a limited to 5000 copies 180g LP edition. Though the group released but 3 LPs, the set includes the mono editions of Buffalo Springfield and Again. The date celebrate's the group's final live concert 50 years ago.

SME Limited announced today that it had acquired Garrard from Gradiente Electronics of Brazil, which in 1979 had acquired the brand name. In addition, SME announced it had acquired Loricraft Audio founded by Terry O'Sullivan who set up shop in Lambourn, West Berkshire close to Garrard's original Swindon manufacturing site.

Brothers Kevin and Steven Berg recently purchased vacuum-based record cleaning machine manufacturer Nitty Gritty Record Care Products and have resumed operations in an Atlanta, Georgia based facility that will produce a full line of machines as well as service older units.

AXPONA 2018 was 1/3 larger than last year’s show and at least twice as well-produced and managed, which is saying a great deal since these have consistently been well-managed affairs.

After a more than 30 year absence SAEC's double knife-edged bearing tone arm is once again in production and will be available through DS Exports, DS Audio's new export division. DS Audio, of course manufactures a line of "optical" cartridges and dedicated phono preamplifiers.

Thanks to an anonymous source, here's one record store's RSD story: Comeback Vinyl opened 2014 in Atlanta and just recently moved to its current Alpharetta, GA. location. These photos, showing the line stretched around the block, are from last week's Record Store Day. Clearly customers did "Comeback" to Comeback Vinyl!

Classic Records' Michael Hobson announced at the 2002 CES that he is releasing 15 Blue Note mono albums.

My assignment: to cover analog at the 2002 Consumer Electronics Show. Want the bad news first? There wasn't any bad news. The good news started with a flood of new software. Fresh vinyl will help drive hardware sales while preventing the industry from trading solely in nostalgia.
